Quilts für Japan / quilts for Japan

Gestern erhielt ich ein Mail von Verena Matter. Sie hat von Naomi Ichikawa, einer Freundin und Quilterin einen Brief mit einem Aufruf zum Spenden von Quilts erhalten. Die Uebersetzung lautet:

Ich bin ok. Aber meine Familie ist in Sendai und ihre Situation ist sehr schwierig. Die Lage ist noch immer sehr schlecht aber nicht furchtbar. Wir sind alle nervös wegen der Nachbeben und der Strahlung, aber es gibt keine Möglichkeit, dem Ganzen zu entkommen.

Ich bitte Quilter uns Quilts für die leidende Bevölkerung zu senden. Darum bitte ich die Quilter auf der ganzen Welt. Wir werden die Quilts an die Leute verteilen, die in einer sehr schwierigen Situation sind.

Wir akzeptieren jede Größe (Babyquilts bis Bettgröße), neu oder ungebraucht.

Marianne Häni hat sich bereit erklärt die Quilts zu sammeln bis sie zusammen nach Japan gesendet werden können. Weiter Infos sowie Adresse findet ihr auf ihrer Homepage bitte hier klicken.

Mit diesem Aufruf haben wir Quilterinnen eine kleine Möglichkeit zu helfen. Damit wir nicht nur ohnmächtig und wie gelähmt all die schlimmen Nachrichten aus Japan über uns ergehen lassen müssen, können wir mit diesen Quilts etwas Wärme und das Gefühl vermitteln, dass wir mit den Opfern der Katastrophe mitfühlen.

Yesterday I received a mail from Verena Matter. She received from Naomi Ichikawa, a friend and Quilter a letter with a call to donate quilts for the victims of the earthquacke and tsunami. This is the letter:


I am ok. But my family is in Sendai and they are at very difficult situation.It is still a bad situation now in Japan but it is not terrible. We are still nervous about shaking and radiation,but no way to escape.
I start to announce to the quilters to send us comfort quilts for the people who are suffering. I would like to ask the world quilters. We will deliver the comfort quilts to the people who are in a very difficult situation.

We accept any size of quilts (baby to adult) new or unused.

The deadline would be the end of May or later.

With this call we Quilters have the possibility to help. So we do not only hear helplessly and as paralyzed all the sad and bad news from Japan, but we can give with our quilts some warmth and the feeling that we care for the victims of this catastrophe.
