SAQA Benefit Auction

 Mit den anderen Resten werde ich einen Quilt nähen für die SAQA Benefit Auction. Hier die ersten Schritte dazu.

Miniquilt

 Dieses mal gibt es keine Täschli aus den Resten, sondern 2 Miniquilts. Hier der erste und die grossen Rechtecke wollten gefüllt werden und zwar mit Bobbin Work. Wow, machte das Spass! Muss unbedingt wieder mehr mit Fäden und Stichen spielen!

This time there won't be any little bags made out of scraps. Instead it will give 2 miniature quilts. Here you can see the one with the rectangles and they really want to be filled with bobbin work. Wow, what fun it was! I really have to work more again with threads and decorative stitching!

 

Resten / scraps

Der Quilt ist nun fertig. Ein Bild davon werde ich euch dann später zeigen, da er für den Gruppen Challenge organisiert von Marianne Bender und patCHquilt genäht wurde und meine Quiltfreundinnen noch nicht ganz so weit sind. 

Und wenn ich einen Quilt fertig genäht habe, gilt es aufräumen! Und da gibt es natürlich immer wieder Resten. Meistens wandern diese in ein Plastiksäckchen und werden später hervor geholt. Aber dieses Mal nicht. 

The quilt is now finished. A picture of it I will show you later because I made it for the group challenge organized by Marianne Bender and patCHquilt and my quilting friends aren't yet as far.

Always when I finished a quilt, then I have to clean up! And of course there are always some leftovers. Mostly they go into a plastic bag and I'll take them out later. But this time not.

Lisme / knitting

Ein weiteres, grosses Hobby von mir ist Stricken / Lisme. Diesen Pullover habe ich fertig gestrickt und er durfte bereits einmal in den Ausgang. Er ist aus Hanfgarn gestrickt und trägt sich wunderbar.

Another great hobby of mine is knitting. This pullover I just finished and it could already go out with me. It is done out of hemp yarn and is great to wear.

 Das Top quilte ich bevor ich noch das letzte Element hinzufügen muss, gemäss unseren Challengeregeln.

Lieblingsquilt / favorite quilte

 Einer meiner wenigen Arbeiten, die ich in eine Rahmen setzte. Diese Floralen Spielereien gefallen mir immer noch und das Werk hat seinen Platz in meinem Haus.

One of my seldom work in a frame. This florale playings I still love and it has its palce on the wall in my house.

 

Lieblingsquilt / favorite quilt

Diesen Quilt nähte ich als Auftragsarbeit für ein Grosi. Inzwischen ist das Baby voll in der Pubertät, nehme ich an.

 This quilt I sewed for a grandmother. In the meantime the baby will now hit the puberty.

Nun beginnt das Spannende oder soll ich sagen das Komplizierte? All diese Blöcke zu einem Top zu vereinen!!

Now the exciting part or shall I say the complicated part starts. All thes blocks have to sewn together into one top!!!

Meine roten Teile sind nun zu unterschiedlichen Blöcken zusammengenäht. Alle auf einem Haufen sehen so aus:

Label

 Wenn bei mir ein Quilt fertig ist, muss ich noch das Label machen. Meistens sticke ich das. Bei Farfallina (click) habe ich das Label nun endlich diese Woche gemacht. Um dem Namen gerecht zu werden, wollte ich rund um das Label Schmetterlinge nähen/sticken, aber nur mit dem normalen Stickfaden, hatte ich das Gefühl, dass es nicht so gut zeichnet. Darum habe  ich ein feines Handstickgarn auf die Unterfandspule gespult und von hinten genäht/gestickt und ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Resultat.

When I've finished a quilt, I had to make the label. Normally I embroider it. By Farfallina (click) I finally made the label this week. To pay justice to the name, I wanted to emroider/sew butterflies around it. But with the normal embroidery yarn it seems too thin. So I took out a thin handembroidery floss and did it on the spool in the bobbin. I am now very pleased with the result.

 

Quiltwoche Samnaun / quiltingweek in Samnaun

Trudy Kleinstein (click) und ich sind nach wie vor optimistisch, dass wir unsere Quiltwoche in den Bergen im Juli durchführen können. Es hat noch ein paar freie Plätze. Im Bulletin von patCHquilt (click) ist ein Bericht über unsere Quiltwoche in den Bergen. In der Sidebar von diesem Blog könnt ihr auch den Flyer sehen.

Trudy Kleinstein (click) and myself are still very optimistic that we can held the quilting week in the mountains this July. There are some places left. In the bulletin of the Swiss Guild patCHquilt (click) is a report about this quilting week. Also in the sidebar of this blog you can see the flyer. 

 

endlich geht es weiter / finally it goes on

Irgendwie bin ich in den letzten Tagen/Wochen/Monaten einfach nicht mehr so richtig motiviert und muss mich manchmal richtig zwingen in mein Nähzimmer zu gehen. Aber jetzt hoffe ich, dass es wieder aufwärts geht mit meiner Motivation. Begonnen habe ich jedenfall mit schneiden, feine Streifen in vielen verschiedenen Rottönen.

Somehow in the last days/weeks/months I have been really not motivated and have to force myself hard to go into my sewing room. But now I hope it goes up and my motivation comes back. I have started in cutting a lot of stripes in many different red hues.

Lieblingsquilt / favorite quilt

 Diesen Quilt nähte ich einmal für einen Wettbewerb, welcher von eine Schoggifabrik ausgeschrieben wurde. Für mich als bekennende Schoggiliebhaberin natürlich ein "Muss" und da Schoggi ja süss ist, entschied ich mich den Quilt in süssen Farben zu nähen :-)

This quilt I once sewed for a contest announced from a chocolate fabric. For me as a chocolate lover a must and because for me chocolate has to be sweet I choosed a sweet color for my quilt :-)

Frühlingswanderung / spring hiking

Diese Wanderung gehört bei mir im Frühling einfach dazu. Und jedes Jahr ist sie etwas anders.

als wir vom Schiff kamen, sah ich diesen wunderschönen Baum, die Farbkomposition finde ich einfach super und erfreut das Herz / as we embarked from the ship, I have seen this wonderful tree and the colorcomposition I find just fantastic and a joy for the heart

 

neue Überzüge / new coat

Für meine Sitzkissen draussen musste ich dringenst neue Überzüge nähen. Nachdem ich untenstehenden Stoff gefunden habe, machte ich mich gleich ans Werk und das Ergebnis gefällt mir sehr.

For my outdoor sitcushions I have to make new covers. After I found the fabric I started sewing at once and I am quite satisfied with the results.

 

Stricken / knitting

Meistens habe ich mindestens 2 Strickarbeiten in Arbeit und zwar eine, wie ich sage, Fernsehtaugliche oder Plauderlismete, d.h. eine einfache, wo man nicht viel studieren muss. Dann liebe ich aber auch etwas kompliziertere Muster und nun bei diesem herrlichen Wetter, geniesse ich es, draussen zu sitzen und mich auf meine Lismete zu konzentrieren. Dies wird dann einmal ein Schal :-)

Mostly I have two knitting projects in work. One which is for chatting or watching TV and one which is more complex. Now at this wonderful spring weather I love to sit outside and concentrate on my more difficult knitting. If this once should be finished, it will be a shawl :-)
